Edge of Leadership - Foundations of Support - 1-Day
Workshop Description
What does it actually look like to build a classroom or program where support is consistent, visible, and shared?
Support is often named as a value, but rarely taught as a skill. Educators work hard to build relationships, but struggle to translate those relationships into clear expectations, predictable behavior, and a strong group culture.
This one-day workshop facilitated by Ryan McCormick introduces the foundational principles of the Edge of Leadership (EOL) framework, with a focus on support as the base of connection and culture.
Participants will explore how support is not just something we offer—it’s something we design, model, and activate within a group.
If you’re ready to move beyond good intentions and begin building a living, supportive culture, this workshop is your starting point.
During this workshop, participants will:
-
Engage in experiential learning activities drawn from both classroom and challenge course settings
-
Explore the Activated Support Model and how support shifts based on needs and context
-
Walk through the Needs–Values–Expectations (NVE) Model as a framework for building culture
-
Practice using language that connects needs, emotions, and behavior
-
Reflect on personal and professional experiences to deepen understanding and application
Participants will leave with:
-
A copy of Edge of Leadership: Guiding educators and students on a journey of meaningful connection, empowering skill and collective leadership
-
Ready-to-use activities and facilitation strategies
-
Practical language tools for building connection and accountability
