This virtual workshop will make the case for the use of free play for all ages on the challenge course, in the classroom, during Physical Education classes and in any outdoor program. Be prepared to change your thinking about how free play can be used as a behavior management tool while also combating the increasing rates of malaise, anxiety, and depression with today's youth.
Participants will view and then get a series of video links that can be used to promote free play during presentations for staff, administrators and the general public. This will enable you to become an advocate for free play in any setting. You will also experience a series of strategies, games and activities that will help you implement “free play” immediately into your program.
This workshop is relevant to any person who works with adults, youth, college students - classroom teachers, educators, adventure facilitators, camp counselors, after school staff, day-care staff and more.
There are no prerequisites for this workshop. Participants will need access to Zoom (video platform) and a small location where they can stand up and move and are comfortable participating online in a digital format.
