NEW Virtual Workshop Offering from High 5: Framing the Experience

In adventure learning, framing connects meaning and purpose to an activity and sets the stage for intentional, specific, and powerful learning. In this workshop, we’ll examine how our words can transform an activity from simple fun to powerfully educational by breaking down the concept, skill and practice of framing. 

Audience: 

All are welcome. This workshop is particularly relevant to any person who works with adults, youth, college students - classroom teachers, educators, adventure facilitators, camp counselors and more.

Participants will leave with the ability to . . .

• Prioritize Reason Over Detail when framing an activity
• Adapt an activity’s framing to target specific learning outcomes
• Utilize framing to strengthen reflection and discussion 
• Build relevant transitions from one activity to the next in an effective sequence

With over two decades of experience in the field of leadership and team development, Ryan McCormick has led the development and implementation of Edge of Leadership (EOL), High 5 Adventure's leadership program for schools. Now in its 9th year, EOL has grown into a district-wide leadership program with a focus on social and emotional development for students in elementary through high school in Keene, NH.

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for this workshop. Participants will need access to Zoom (video platform) and a location where they are comfortable participating online in a digital format.

Virtual Training Cancellation Policy: 

Cancellations less than seven days prior to a workshop start date will result in a 50% refund of tuition cost. No shows without cancellation notice will forfeit all tuition cost paid.
